1. Safe Transport & Storage – Avoid Stress & Heat
– Never throw, drop, or stack roughly – Impacts can cause micro-cracks that weaken structural integrity.
– Max stack height: 1 meter – Excessive weight causes warping. Store on a flat surface or use wooden supports (spaced ≤1m apart).
– Keep away from heat sources (≥1m distance) – High temperatures can soften and deform profiles.
2. Indoor vs. Outdoor Storage – Prevent Weather Damage
– Ideal storage: Dry, ventilated indoor space – Prevents moisture absorption and UV degradation.
– If stored outdoors:
– Cover with UV-resistant tarps – Direct sunlight causes fading and brittleness.
– Acclimatize before use – After outdoor storage, let profiles rest 24 hours at 15–25°C to stabilize material properties.
3. Processing & Installation – Temperature Matters
– Fabrication temperature ≥15°C – Cold UPVC profile becomes brittle; warm conditions ensure clean cuts and smooth assembly.
– Installation temperature ≥5°C – Low temperatures reduce flexibility, making profiles harder to fit securely.
4. Gentle Assembly – No Hammer Force!
– Glass bead installation: Use a rubber mallet, not a metal hammer. Forcing beads can crack the UPVC profile or damage sealing edges.
By following these steps, you’ll maximize the lifespan and performance of your UPVC windows and doors. Proper handling = fewer defects, better energy efficiency, and a flawless finish!
