塑钢型材早在20世纪五十年代末已经在德国出现，我国从1983年才开始引进，在20世纪90年代末才开始普及应用。
Plastic steel profiles, referred to as plastic steel, the main chemical composition is PVC, so it is also called PVC profiles. It is based on polyvinyl chloride (PVC) resin as the main raw material, plus a certain proportion of stabilizers, colorants, fillers, ultraviolet absorbers, etc., through the extrusion process into profiles. Because the strength of doors and windows processed with PVC profiles is not enough, steel is usually added in the cavity to enhance the firmness of doors and windows, so plastic doors and windows made of steel inside the profiles are usually called plastic steel doors and windows. With the wide use of plastic steel doors and windows, PVC profiles used to make plastic steel doors and windows are customarily called plastic steel profiles.
Plastic steel profiles have appeared in Germany as early as the late 1950 s. China began to introduce them in 1983 and began to popularize them in the late 1990s.
